Online Safety
Ztimeline is a cool place to organize your pictures in your own timeline. It lets you view your entire life in a 'chronological' way and helps you keep in touch with your friends all over the world. However, in doing so, you should always keep in mind the following:
TIPS FOR ZTIMELINE USERS:
Your timeline is available to anyone who wishes to view it! Keep in mind that you are entitled to your own privacy! Don't post things you wouldn't want others to know or see, such as your address, e-mail, phone number, or places where you hang out that strangers could find you at, but rather post information which you agree to disclose with others.
Be careful with what you post! You are in charge of the pictures you upload, so if you don't want others to see those pictures, don't post them! Only post pictures that you are comfortable with others seeing. Also, keep in mind that whatever you upload on the internet, anyone can download.
You are entitled to report any inappropriate behavior you may experience- Take action! If you see others harassing you or acting inappropriately, please take action and report it to the Ztimeline Team as soon as possible or visit the Internet Crime Complaint Center
Don't add people if you don't know them! Often times, strangers will try to get information from you and then pretend to be your friends.
Avoid meeting with someone you just met online! If you should meet, choose to do so during the day, somewhere public, and make sure to take someone with you. Don't go alone!
Be honest and don't lie about your age! Some people pretend to be who they really aren't. Be careful who you talk to and what you say to others.
TIPS FOR ZTIMELINE PARENTS:
For anyone, especially adolescents, Ztimeline is an easy way to post pictures in one's timeline and share them with family and friends. As a parent, think of the following procedures in order to help your child act accordingly as a Ztimeline member:
Talk with your child about what they can and cannot do online.
Know who your child talks to.
Be careful of what they post, since Ztimeline is a public place which anyone can visit. Remind your child not to post things they wouldn't want others to know or see, such as their address, e-mail, phone number, or places where they hang out that strangers could find them at.
Some people pretend to be who they really aren't. Advice your child to be careful with who they talk to and what they say to others. If you suspect that others are harassing your child or acting inappropriately, please take action and report it to the Ztimeline Team as soon as possible at report_abuse@ztimeline.com or visit the Internet Crime Complaint Center
